This route is about 21 km long, and the only difficulty is traffic, especially in summer.
It takes us mainly through pine groves and many coves in the area.
The area around the Roche lighthouse is especially stunning with its fantastic coastal views
A simple, 2 hour route whose only inconvenience is the time spent on sandy ground.
We leave Barbate in the direction of Caños de Meca, where we can visit the Barbate marshes. The road soon shelters us with pine trees to the left and right, before we reach the sea beyond the cliffs. At the area known as la Breña we need to turn right to cross the pine grove and reach the cliff that takes us along a path to the Caños de Meca beach. From here the views of the Atlantic are splendid, although it’s important to take care with the cliff.
Carrying on along the beach we get to the Caños, having enjoyed some of the best views in Cadiz.
